The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through field studies and literature studies. Field studies were conducted through interviews and direct observation of amil zakat and muzakki, while literature studies were conducted by examining classical and contemporary literature, including Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah's views related to Maqashid Sharia.
Based on the results of the research, the practice of distributing zakat fitrah for the construction and cash of the mosque as carried out at the Nurul Iman Mosque can be justified in Islamic law when viewed through the Maqashid Sharia approach developed by Ibn Qayyim al-Jauziyyah. The main purpose of zakat fitrah, which is to fulfill the needs of the poor on Eid, has been well implemented through the distribution of zakat paid on time. Meanwhile, the zakat funds allocated for mosque construction and treasury come from zakat fitrah paid after the deadline. The maslahat approach in Maqashid Sharia allows adjusting the law to local situations and needs as long as it does not contradict the basic objectives of Sharia.
