This writing is an elaboration of the Principles of Islamic Law lectures at the University of Indonesia's Faculty of Law (Jakarta), which has been aligned with the Decision of the Teachers Meeting of Similar Courses held by the Consortium of Jurisprudence in Bandungan, Semarang in 1989. The title of this book is Principles of Islamic Law, which corresponds with the name used in the University of Indonesia's Faculty of Law curriculum since 1982, which is the same as Islamic Law I, the name used in the Legal Expertise, core curriculum of undergraduate law education program course list (1983). The subtitle Introduction to Islamic Jurisprudence and the Legal System in Indonesia reflects its content.
