Islam, with its most effable expression 'Shari'ah' has, for multiple reasons and on numerous pretexts and premises, been misweened by the rigid, ignorant or conservative muslims, blind rectionaries and the Orientalist, biased and hostile, at times. The tragic decadence in the muslim world and the backwardness or the woeful plight in which muslims are, presently, caught and for which they alone are responsible are, one way or the other, reflected back and ascribed to the system itself.
